Pre-Diabetes

What is Pre-Diabetes?

Pre-Diabetes is when your blood sugar is higher than it normally should be but not quite high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes. This puts you at risk for developing type 2 diabetes later on (Diagnosing diabetes, n.d.).

Risk Factors

  • Over 45 years old

  • Overweight

  • Having gestational diabetes during pregnancy

  • Having a parent or sibling with diabetes

  • Not being physically active at least three times a week(What is pre-diabetes?, 2015).
