Quit Smoking

Smoking is not healthy for anyone and quitting has many benefits which include:

  • Lower your risk for heart attack

  • Lower your risk for stroke

  • Lower your risk for some cancers

  • Lower your risk for emphysema and chronic bronchitis and you're able to breathe easier

  • Your energy level increases

  • If you're pregnant, you can lower your risk for a pre-term baby and a low birth weight baby (All about quitting smoking,, 2012).

Some ways to quit include:

  • Quit cold turkey

  • Taper off

  • Nicotine patch or gum

  • Join a support group

  • Counseling

  • Prescription medication (All about quitting smoking,, 2012).
